Our Mission

Chenango Land Trust is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to work with landowners to protect natural areas in and around Chenango County in Central New York State.

The Chenango Land Trust holds conservation easements on privately owned properties throughout Chenango County and one in Broome County. The conservation easements limit or restrict development, thus protecting the intrinsic and natural resource value of the land. Access to these properties is restricted to the landowners and Board members of the Land Trust. The Broome County property has an extensive trail system that is open to the public. Properties owned outright by the Chenango Land Trust are not open to the public.
